Eftersom det tar lite tid kan man samla p\u00e5 sig lite innan man sm\u00e4lter det. Det finns olika s\u00e4tt att sm\u00e4lta, eller rendera, fett. Jag torr-renderar det i ugn. Man kan \u00e4ven v\u00e5t-rendera, genom att placera i vatten och koka tills vattnet f\u00f6rsvunnit och fettet \u00e4r kvar. Men eftersom torr-rendering \u00e4r enkelt \u00e4r det det vi ska g\u00f6ra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00f6tfett eller talg finns p\u00e5 m\u00e5nga st\u00e4llen p\u00e5 en ko. Det b\u00e4sta fettet sitter runt njurarna, d\u00e4r det finns stora bitar. Annars kan man sk\u00e4ra bort det fr\u00e5n en stek eller varhelst man hittar tjockare lager vitt fett. Om man inte f\u00e5r ihop s\u00e5 mycket p\u00e5 en g\u00e5ng kan man f\u00f6rvara det i frysen tills man har samlat ihop en del.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4r allt fett bra att anv\u00e4nda f\u00f6r att rendera? Nej, det man letar efter \u00e4r m\u00e4ttat fett. Man vet vad som \u00e4r m\u00e4ttat fett genom att trycka p\u00e5 det med ett finger. Om det \u00e4r h\u00e5rt\/fast (inte mjukt eller sladdrigt) har man hittat r\u00e4tt. S\u00e4tt ugnen p\u00e5 100\u00b0 \u2013 120\u00b0 C, inte h\u00f6gre.
