Caramelized red onions is a really sweet side dish. It takes roughly half an hour to make, and is a great compliment to many dishes.

Instructions
- Start by peeling the onions. Cut them in half, and slice them thinly with a sharp knife.
- Heat up your frying pan, and add some (not all) of the oil. Use plain vegetable oil, do not use olive oil. Fry the onions, stirring regularly, on medium heat for 20-30 minutes until soft.
- Add more oil after a little time. Then turn up the heat to high, and sprinkle the sugar evenly. Let the sugar caramelize the onions, stir while caramelizing. This only takes a minute or so. Then remove the frying pan from the stove and let it cool off.
